Mary Fagan- 5 Questions

Mary faganWe got to sit down with the late great Mary Fagan and ask her out famous five questions. I mean- she is not late... like… dead… but late as in… we have been trying to set up this interview for months. and...It FINNALLY HAPPENED!!!!!!!! You can catch Mary at The 3rd Annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Benefit Concert Saturday, March 15th, 2014 at the Fun Intelligent Training; Concord, NH. More info on the event here:

1. What is one thing you wish you knew when you started out playing music that you now know?

Mary: I wish I'd understood more about the business side of music. As a matter of fact, that's still the case.

2.Beatles or Rolling Stones -who wins at a chess game- who is the better band?

Mary:The Beatles were the Forest Gump of Rock n Roll. Chess? Their songs have finesse. They win at Chess. The Stones are more like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. And they've been so solid they're almost taken for granted. Where would we be without Beggars Banquet and Let It Bleed? The Beatles were together about 10 years but The Stones are 52 years and counting! Definitely, The Stones. No wait - The Beatles. The Stones. Beatles, Stones, Apples, Oranges, Apples, Oranges…

3. Who is your favorite local band/artist right now?

Mary: Last time I saw Pat And The Hats they stole my heart.

4. What is the most embarrassing thing to happen to you at a show?

Mary: I blush at my own songs - when they're new, if the lyrics are suggestive I can feel my face turning red.

5. You are stuck on a desert island- what album do you bring?

Mary: The Sound Track to The Harder They Come. It's got Jimmy Cliff, Desmond Decker & the Aces, Toots & The Maytals and more Jamaican musical treasures. I got turned on to it 30 years ago and I will still play it twice in a row.
